Can One Transfer Software (e.g. Macromedia Fireworks for editing gif animations) From Old PC To New PC - without original cd Installation disks?

Really, thank you for reading this thread:

Can one transfer software from one's PC to your new PC without having the original cd Installation disks?

Wee back story

Shite Windows 11 update forced me (like so many others) to buy new PC (when my ace PC running fine) > bought new higher spec PC (the highest spec I could afford and not during the bestest financial times) > then, I frantically rummaged through my flat for software instillation cd disks ... fer fook sake, I can't find my Macromedia Fireworks cd Installation disk.

Sorry, three questions please:

  1. Software Transfer: If one can transfer software from one PC to another (I don't suppose one can 😞) - how can I do this (without possible malware issues from 3rd party download sites)?
  2. Macromedia Fireworks: Is there somewhere I can download lovely old-skool Macromedia Fireworks for FREE and without MALWARE? I had only used Macromedia Fireworks to make animated gifs - which was truly ace at the time. Shite FREE Adobe Express - doesn't allow me to customise the size of the canvas area, or may be I am being a muppet and not sussed this?. FYI I spent circa an hour today: setting up my old pc, making edits to my animated gif in lovely Fireworks, copying to my external drive, disconnecting, then the palaver on to my new pc and then discovered ... I had edited the wrong file.. grrr 😞
  3. Editing gif animations for FREE (e.g. frame rates) but on desktop and not online - any suggestions hugely appreciated

Again thank you very much for reading this thread. Please forgive me if I do not reply with thanks immediately to your helpful comment - I hope I have set myself up that comments forward to my email inbox?

Ps While I'm here - a moment, that's just hit me ... of lovely Nostalgia when the web was in it's innocent infancy ... a shout-out to fabulous Allaire HOMESITE (a v slick hand coded HTML editor not like lame WYSIWYG HTML editors ) - that Macromedia/Adobe also killed when they bought it to "sniff" out any healthy competition 😞
