Application tracker question

My adopted grandmother was born in Canada. I submitted my application in January and received acknowledgment that my application was in process as of Feb. 20, 2026. I was wondering when my part 1 is approved (assuming it is) will the online tracker say that or does it only change when both parts have been processed? I was told when I applied that it would take about 5 months for part 1 of my application to be processed and I'm quickly approaching month 6 so just curious.

Questions about treatment after a cancerous polyp was found

My husband had a colonoscopy and they found a cancerous polyp in his rectum. Just our luck when the doctor called on Friday we were out of cell phone reception camping so we couldn't ask any questions. The doctor said in the email that "This will need further evaluation with imaging and treatment with oncology, and possible surgery." And "Based upon these results, I would recommend a repeat colonoscopy in 1 year."

We read further into the report and it was noted "No lymphovascular or perineural invasion identified." which gives us hope but as we wait for Monday to arrive so he can call the doctor I was wondering if based on others experience is the only real treatment at this point that is needed the follow up colonoscopy in a year? It said they had to remove the polyp in chunks so the margins could not be accurately assessed. We were confused by the language in the email/my chart.

Eligibility questions

I was adopted as a toddler, my adopted grandmother was Canadian. I have been working with a lawyer to see if I qualify for ancestry through descent. I was told I was eligible but have to go through the "grant of citizenship" process that is more expensive. I'm fine with that and I submitted part 1 of my application. I started filling out the paperwork for part 2 and on Friday the lawyer emailed me saying the "IRCC continues to change it's approach and exercise discretion on how these applications are being approved" and they encouraged me to ask my adopted mom if she was willing to apply for her own citizenship to strengthen my application. I have all the documents I need and I was really excited and now I'm really worried I'll be denied.

I also have two minor biological children that I had hoped would be eligible but I've read some things online that indicate as an adoptee my children might not be eligible. I emailed my lawyer last night but my brain is racing right now so thought I'd post here.
