🎶 “A single mom who works two jobs…” 🎶 these amanos are always so busy!!!

I have like 4-5 girls who often hang out together harvesting, ya know, whatever it is they’re grabbing. They’re all heavily berried and I feel so bad that they work so hard and take such good care of their shrimp bebehs but they won’t live!

I love giving them daphnia!!!

I just started a daphnia culture (and therefore a green water culture) and it’s only been a couple weeks but I love it !!! The peas are such piggies. You give em anything and they gobble it right up. At least with the daphnia they’re tiny so the puffers spend a lot of time chasing em down to get a meal. Hoping the cories figure it out too!

My other tank has a lot of nano fish and tetras and they looooove em too.

Plants pollinators would appreciate in this shady area?

This is an area between my driveway and my neighbors house. I was making plans to make it a nice little area for the bugs, but apparently my husband okayed the contractor is dumping all their gravel here so… This is what I have to work with. Anyway, this area is usually in the shade… I caught it with a tiny bit of sun today because it was mid afternoon.

any suggestions on plants that will do well here? I am thinking of doing a bunch of big containers for now until I’m sure that I’m happy with everything before I go planting. Maybe one of those huge galvanized tubs?

Thanks

Help with water oasis for the bugs on my back pool patio. Too much sun? Aww

Hey everyone, my backyard consists of a pool deck with pavers. That’s it! I keep finding dead bees and other insects in the swimming pool and it makes me so sad…. I do have a little pond liner I use to throw my aquarium plant trimmings on the other side so there is a source of water assuming they can find it.

Anyway, I figured I would make a little water oasis on the other side by the pool with flowers to attract them and give a little snack. The only thing is I don’t have any options for placement really…

Where I put it last night it’s gonna get sun from like 8 AM until 6 PM which seems like way too much after I thought more about it. I was up late trying to figure out how to provide shade, but since we don’t have any grass to put stakes into, I can’t figure anything out.

The other option is, I can move this bench back to where it was before, against the side of the house - pic3. The only thing is it’s under the eaves and it would get nice light all day, but no direct sun.

What do y’all think? I’m in 10b, Fort Lauderdale
