Aloha Hola Ohana 🌺🌶️

Aloha Hola Ohana 🌺🌶️

Hawai’i, we need a critical border treaty. Let me offer up the Aloha Hola Pact 2.0, since I know you’re awake at this hour.

Only 12 states remain, and Vermont (RIP) leaves us tomorrow. NM stretches from Arizona to Georgia, and you hold most of California on the main land. We now share a border, and fighting each other would be a waste of time. Let's lock down the West, SW, South, and your islands together.

The offer is simple: we hand out fresh leis and Hatch chile breakfast burritos. We both bring incredible culture, world-class food, and unbelievable scenery to the table. Where else can you catch the magic of the Balloon Fiesta in the morning and devour ono kalua pork at a luau?

Our weather and communities are unbeatable, magical, and mysterious. Nuevo México might be called the Land of Enchantment, but combining it with Hawaiʻi is unmatched. Last time our regions failed, let’s not let that happen again.

Mahalo amigos, it would be an honor to share this alliance. 🌶️🍍

Rachel Mansfield ranting about Ed Sheeran concert

I took a screenshot of this the other day to look up what in the world she was talking about and I’m going to assume it was about Macklemore. Her true colors are showing and if it was that horrific she could’ve left. Also Cadootz, her gluten free crackers are so so bad.

Edit: The photo didn’t attach to the post, so I just put it in the comments.

I need a little hope please

I feel like dog shit, like many of you. It’s been 3 months of this nightmare and my anxiety brain is making me feel like there’s no way out.

TL;DR I feel like there’s no way to get my weight up and my nutrients up to heal. I feel like it’s impossible and I’m going to die.

•I started off small, I weighed probably around 103 or so pounds and now I’m down to 91.

•It seems like I have ~8 safe foods and anytime I go out of that my stomach gets mad at me and they are all low fat and low calorie, so that’s a big part of why I can’t keep the weight on.

*My bloodwork came back this month and my vitamin D is under 10 (yep), b12 195, and iron 11% saturation, 12 ferritin, 38 iron. Everything else looked good. No celiac, no thyroid issue.

*I can’t get an endoscopy scheduled until December. My ultrasound looked good though for gallbladder. No h pylori in stool. I’ve been on a PPI for a month.

*my stress and anxiety are through the roof, I’m a caregiver and that is probably how I got gastritis in the first place, along with my eating habits.

I took 1,000IU last month of vitamin D because I suspected I was low and it gave me the worst want to crawl out of my skin anxiety and insomnia. I stopped it and those symptoms went away.

My brain is so fried idk where to start anymore. Now I apparently have to add magnesium with the vitamin d and magnesium can be harsh on the stomach. Iron can be as well. How am I supposed to add all of these new vitamins, plus try to get enough calories, all while trying to introduce new foods, and mucilages, but I have to do them one at a time? I feel so bad it seems like no one can help. The nutritionist only wanted to talk about GERD, so it was pretty obvious she knows more about that than gastritis. I don’t see the GI doctor again until after the endoscopy. This is insane. I feel like I’m just going to die because I’m going to lose so much weight and my nutrients are all draining. Somehow I still have my cycle and that’s for sure taking all of my iron. I need this hell to be over.

I can’t stop losing weight

I need feedback from people that started off slim or lost a ton of weight and got into this dangerous zone. I keep losing weight that I can’t afford to lose. I started at ~103 pounds and I’m at 93 pounds and counting, with no end in sight.

I’m in my thirties, female and I haven’t had an endoscopy yet, just two negative h pylori tests and one clear ultrasound.

I can eat chicken breast, zucchini, banana, skinless baked potato, egg whites, cantaloupe, oatmeal, artesano white bread, and honey maid graham crackers. It’s a huge struggle to get even 1,100 or 1,200 calories in a day. It seems every time I try something new I can’t handle it. Scrambled eggs and avocado cause stomach burning. Multi grain Cheerios and vanilla ensure put me in huge flare ups.

I have been dealing with this since mid-May and a strict diet since ~May 29th. The Facebook gastritis group I think made things worse and increased my anxiety and now my diet is so restricted I’m afraid I’m going to need the hospital soon just to try to not lose anymore weight.

I met with a nutritionist today and she seemed to know more about GERD and less about gastritis so it wasn’t helpful. I’m hoping someone that’s been at this stage and got through it can advise me. The doctors just threw a ppi at me.

TL;DR How do I got about this diet? Is being restrictive for a few months better than trying many new safe foods? I feel my diet is too limited and I can’t keep losing weight.

Has anyone tried raspberry leaf tea with gastritis?

I normally drink that for my really bad period cramps instead of taking Aleve and now that I really can’t take Aleve, I’m wondering if my raspberry leaf tea is going to make things worse? Google is concerned about the tannins, but says it might be ok. 🫠

I took my Vitamin D3 and it caused terrible anxiety? Anyone else?

I’m not a stranger to low vitamin d and I read that it can be bad to be low on vit d with gastritis, so I took only 1,000IU the other day and I had TERRIBLE anxiety all night and morning long. It reminded of when I used to have bad panic attacks and I would want to crawl out of my skin. I did my best to stay calm and knew that it was some sort of reaction. Thankfully those anxious feelings went away in about 48 hours. I feel like it has to be because I’m so deficient in everything right now on this bland diet + some type of absorption issue with my gastritis. I never would’ve expected this because I used to take it no problem when my doctors would prescribe 50,000IU. So, can anyone relate and what did you do instead? Liquid? Injections? Vegan? I took pure encapsulations, a brand I usually have no issues with and I know it was the pill because I haven’t changed anything in my diet or meds for a whole month. I’ll ask my doctor tomorrow, but they are kind of useless.

Vitamin D supplements need to be taken with fat. I can’t have fat right now. Can someone please tell me how they raised their vitamin d levels?

My vitamin d levels are low and I was about to take my supplements that came after I finished breakfast, but my breakfast is egg whites and plain toast. I can tolerate a little avocado, but apparently I need to eat half an avocado to get the fat I need to absorb this pill. Can anyone here please tell me what fats they could eat to help with vitamin d absorption? I tried a whole scrambled egg last week with the yolk and I couldn’t tolerate it, so unfortunately that’s out of the question right now.
