Some deoxit and cleaning/sanding the rusted battery compartment and it works! Have a couple 8 tracks and it seems to work. Got a station in the radio. Pretty cool design

My local TNR/feral support had a litter of kittens needing adopted/rehomed and I was one of the first to contact them about her and got her a couple days later. She was dewormed, got flea and mite treatment, too young to spay yet, and I got her completely free. She has been an absolute dream. Super sweet and affectionate, when I'm at work she just sleeps but the moment I get home she purrs and gets incredibly loving. Doesn't really understand cat toys and hisses at them, but she's just a very sweet low maintenance cat. Slept next to me her first night home and on my chest by night two. Her name is Nina, after Nina Simone.
