Airport pickup for lots of luggage and pets?

Hi all, we are moving to NYC from Europe, and I’m looking for recommendations for a reliable airport pickup company. We will be arriving with loads of luggage, and most importantly, two dogs and their huge travel crates. I’m fairly confident that we wouldn’t fit in a standard Uber Pets vehicle, so we would ideally need a larger vehicle, and a company that is comfortable with transporting pets.

The dogs are generally well-behaved and used to travelling in vehicles, however, they will be after a long flight, so they might be a bit anxious. I’m hoping to find an easy way to get us into Manhattan in order to avoid further stress upon arrival. I would really appreciate any advice or recommendations!

Hi all, I’m looking for some insights from those who better understand the internal Commission hierarchy.

I’m currently in my late 30’s, with 15 years of experience in senior level public service roles both in my member state, and in the EU (from the member state side). Due to a change in the political situation, I started seeking out roles at the EU institutions, and I was invited to sit a CAST FGIV exam in July. I am quite familiar with the recruitment procedure and the time limits, however I’m a bit unsure about what kind of roles would a FGIV be eligible for. When I sampled the opinions of my friends within the institutions, I’ve heard all kinds of things: from the nature of work being absolutely the same as in permanent roles with the exception of the 6 years limit, to FGIV’s being basically junior roles serving permanent officials without any kind of seniority or managerial prospects whatsoever.

I would be really interested in sampling your opinions too before sitting my exam. While I do understand that the roles I’ve held in the past don’t directly translate to Commission-experience, and I’m also genuinely passionate about using my knowledge in a way that helps make Europe stronger, I am less inclined to spend months studying for an exam that essentially resets my career clock permanently with a decade and a half. I also registered for the AD5 exam, but I know I may have similar problems there too.

So I’d be genuinely curious to hear your thoughts on this, and would also welcome any advice or experience about joining the EU institutions mid-career.
