How do you cope with the loss?

My dad got me a 10 week old kitten for my 30th birthday and a moving in present in October 2024.

She went missing on February 21st, and I found her 25 meters away from my house under a bush 3 months later after (so I thought) scouring the immediate and surrounding areas, chasing dishevelled tabby cats around like a mad woman.

She had Likely been hit by a car and tried to get home.

I also have a male cat who I adopted in November last year, and he doesn’t like to be touched at all, but will play all day.

Nala, she would play, then curl up on my chest for a cuddle and snore. She would wake me up by sleeping on my chest, or laying across my neck.

She was such a gentle, curious soul who loved adventures in the neighbouring Allottment.

I’m still racked with guilt, emptiness and longing for another love bug, but I can’t bring myself to get another one as the heart break was immense.
