Shoes/Boots/shirt suggestion

I will be getting my kilt in a few months from USA Kilts and hope to wear it to the Highland Games in mid-November, just as a spectator.
What type of footwear would be appropriate for walking around? I'm not interested in Ghillie Brogues. Would sneakers or some work boots be acceptable? I will have on cotton hose.

Also, what type of shirt should I wear? It can be very warm/hot here in South MS in Nov., or, like last year, chilly one day and hot the next. I'm a T-shirt type. I do have a few shirts with my tartan pattern on them, but that probably would be too much tartan.

Thanks!

Grand Princess buffet

We just returned from our Alaska cruise via the Grand Princess.

Their buffet food was the worst.

Also it's a small ship, so the buffet is smaller than other ships.

Grand Princess will swap the buffet from one side to the other side. So, if you go later in the day and get your food and sit down to eat, and you go back for something else, you may have to exit the dining area, and go to the other side of the ship to get something else to eat, then walk all the way back to your dining area.

Such a pain.

Grand Princess really falls short on the buffet and the way it is served, the quality of the food, and the choices.

Just our options. Maybe it's just this ship in Alaska, but it doesn't make me want to sail with Princess Cruises again.
