BCG office selection — SF, Denver, Brooklyn

I'm a rising senior at a small school / semi target, interning at a tier2 consulting firm this summer. Targeting BCG full-time this fall and trying to finalize my office ranking. Would love input from anyone with BCG experience or knowledge of these offices.

My situation:

- SF: One C2 alum with great connection, two partner alums but haven’t connected that much. Strong lifestyle preference for SF. Worried about competition given it's a top-choice office for West Coast candidates.
- Brooklyn: One C2 alum, also taking to more people there. Would also be a cool place to live.
- Denver: No school alums, but have connected with quite a few people who are all incredibly helpful. One recently said my name is being passed around as a high-priority candidate. Lowest competition probably comparing to SF/BKN. Also gonna be in Denver this summer and really like the city. Main hesitation: less sure about post-grad social life there vs. SF/NYC.

My questions:

  1. How does BCG's second-choice office actually work in practice? If I list SF first and Denver second and don't get SF, am I realistically considered for Denver?
  2. For anyone who has worked at or knows the Denver office — what's the vibe? And what's post-grad life actually like in Denver for young professionals? I've always heard "go to a big city when you're young" but genuinely open to being wrong about this.

Any insight appreciated — trying to make this decision thoughtfully!
