First time pairing a corset with a skirt

So I recently bought a corset for a outfit I wear frequently, not sure 100% if it works. Fight i jump on in and ask all of you what you think. I'd like some insight and advice. Does this work? Please forgive me for the lack of makeup, I hardly wear it.
