FX30 or FX3 or something else?
Looking for some advice from you all
I have been in the videography/filmmaking game for nearly 10 years, I took a break from it for 2 years as it wasn't my only source of income and I had some other things going on
I always had the intention of coming back to work in this industry and for this reason I sold both my Sony a7siii and a7iv because of the way cameras lose value when new models come out and I was sure there would be an update to the 7s or FX3 sensor by the time I planned to come back
Here we are in 2026 and so far everything is just rumors
And would they not update the FX6 first before the FX3?
I don't shoot much photo anymore, I have a Ricoh GRiii and Osmo Pocket 3 for personal and family stuff which I am really happy with
My shoots were mostly run and gun music videos, documentaries or projects for businesses. It will more than likely be the same kind of work when I start again
I am going to be buying a camera in the next 2-3 months and I don't know if I should get an FX30 which would be a B Cam if an FX3ii did drop or if I should go for an FX3 and sell it when the update eventually comes out
I'm also open to changing ecosystem
Internal ND and open gate with good colour science is the dream
I don't care about 120fps
