Mobile set-up in progress

I wanted to share the mobile set-up I’ve been working on lately. I’m still sorting out the connections, but the Tonic runs things, and i picked up a used J-6 for a good price specifically so it can take the sync signal from the pocket operators, and have it sequence chords for the FM-1 via midi. I will likely not pull out the Bastl B Drum very often, but it does look good next to the Dude mixer, and I wanted to mess with the sync options for it. A smaller variation of this set-up is just the Tonic, Sub, and Kaos Pad running into the zoom recorder. so far it‘s a lot of fun, and admittedly a bit of a rabbit hole I went down with the pocket operators. I thought you folks might enjoy. Cheers!

Question about lower elbow and lateral assembly on side-mount Hayward filter

Hello! Long story short, I needed to replace the lateral assembly on my Hayward S244S side mount sand filter. I was having an issue getting the parts I needed, but now I seem to have the right parts. This elbow fits together with the lateral assembly, but I need to use something to hold it together. I picked up some 3M 5200, is that the right kind of adheasive to use for this application? I just need to get this lower elbow and lateral assembly in and then I can put the upper elbow back in and fill the filter back up. I've got 150 pounds of zeolite (which I understand I need to backwash EXTENSIVELY before filtering), and I was considering putting 50 pounds of pool-rated pea gravel in as well, but I'm still kind of on the fence about using the pea gravel (I wasn't sure if 50 pounds would even do anything). I welcome any input, thanks for your help, I hope to get the pool up and running this week. Cheers!

Help needed removing stand-pipe and laterals on Hayward Sand Filter

Hello! I've got a Hayward ProSeries Sandfilter Model# S244S, which is a side-mounted filter in terms of the Key assembly, etc. Long story short, my pool jets were dumping sand into my pool, so that sounds like the laterals. So, I vacuumed out all of the sand in the filter, and I got a new standpipe with laterals to replace it with. I'm a little confused how to get to it (And I don't want to force anything). There is a side mount pipe that comes in to the filter right above where the stand-pipe is, so how am I supposed to get underneath there? I have included a photo of the outside, there are 2 joints which line up with where the pipes are in the filter, and I tested them and I am able to loosen them without any hassle, so I'm assuming this is part of the procedure. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Spider Gasket question: I replaced the Key Assembly on my Hayward Vari-flo valve, but Sand is still coming through the jets...

Hello, I'd love for you more experienced pool owners to check my logic on this and to let me know if I'm on the right track or not. I have a Sand Filter (Hayward Super Filter) with a Vari-Flo valve (710, the 1.5" variety), and I was having an issue where I was unable to turn the handle to switch modes on the filter, so I took the key assembly apart and came to the conclusion I would get a new one. The gasket underneath still looked fine to me (although admittedly I'm no expert) so I lubed up the o-ring and bolted it on and backwashed as usual, and it turns easily and seems to be working just fine, except in Filter mode it is spitting sand into the pool through the jets) which has a been a problem previously. So now I'm thinking I should replace the spider gasket underneath, which is fine as I have a brand new one ready to go. Does this sound like what I need to do? My main point of hesitation is the primary video I saw online which goes into this process, says to specifically use the 3M 4077 rubber adheasive, but I'm having a hard time finding that in a small tube. The more readily available 3M adheasive is the 5200 which sounds like it's for a different usecase and difficult to remove if I need to do this procedure in the future. For those of you who have replaced the spider gasket under a key assembly, what did you use? What do you recommend? Thanks everyone, I appreciate your help.

Looking for rec's for trigger pads for an old TAMA Techstar TAM-500 drum synth

Hello! I've had this TAMA drum synth for a long time, and have in the past used it with various sequencers, but I have a specific-ish use case that I'd like a some recommendations on. I'm interested in using the TAMA specifically for "tom" fills, and would like to trigger those by actually drumming on pads that trigger the individual sounds. This would be more of an auxilary thing to compliment beats being provided by other hardware.

Each voice on the TAMA has the same architecture, so my plan is to do 5 tom sounds tuned differently from each other (the way they have it labeled, you would use 1 for bass, 1 for snare, and 3 toms, but each voice is identical). So, ideally I'd be looking for 5 small-ish drum pads which can provide the trigger needed to drive the TAMA drum synth, and I'd assume I'd mount them on a stand of some sort. I love the look of the original hexagonal pads, (from what I understand, there was a lawsuit and they had to change the design, I think because Simmons was suing them, if I remember correctly). But I'm open to something that might be a little more modern and therefore potentially more reliable. And of course I'd like to keep this on the affordable side of things, since it's a pretty specific use case.

From my cursory exploration, I see a lot pads with multiple sections (which I'm not opposed to either), but they all seem to have MIDI out (I'd prefer to keep it simple and just use the piezo-style triggers instead of doing a MIDI to trigger converter in yet another piece of gear, but it's not completely out of the question). Thanks in advance for the suggestions. Cheers!
