I saw this move about 2000 to 2010. The husband I think was an academic, a lecturer or something. He was an arsehole to her. The wife leaves him and hires a female assassin to kill him. I think the wife also has an affair or sleeps with the assassin. At some stage the assassin sodomizes the husband with a silenced pistol and he enjoys it.
I think the husband had a beard and reminds me of Matt Berry (but I don’t think it’s him).
I don’t think I have anything else to go on. I think it was set in America. I think the wife and assassin meet in a dusty roadside motel.

Was at a friends house. Watched “formula 51” at the same time and we usually newish movies together. (We are looong out of touch so I can’t ask him).
