new prescription

basic is a week away, i went in to specsavers today for an eye check just to make sure everything was alright. turns out im a tiny bit short-sighted in my left eye, and i mean really a tiny bit, apparently 6/7.5

was given a prescription for glasses, and im gonna have to declare it to my recruiter. will i get deferred? i dont wanna spend another 2 months waiting for the next intake because crapita need to spend a century before they approve it. sorry if this is a daft one, i've already spent 8 months in the recruitment pipeline, i dont want any more drama because im a tad under the average in terms of eyesight.

update: called my recruiter, totally fine

Pull ups: end of the world or not?

I'm just under a month away from starting basic, and I can't do pull-ups. I don't struggle in any other areas; I can do 30+ push-ups, I have a strong core and legs, my 2km PB is 8:17 (Recorded 2 months ago, so now it's probably sub 8-minutes), and overall I think I'm in a good position to start basic. Pull-ups are the one thing I can't do, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to achieve one before I go. I think I'm close, however, so a bit of nurturing and guidance in basic would definitely get me over the line. I'm just concerned I'll look like a useless cunt if I turn up without the ability to do them. I'm not flapping about it, really, nobody is expected to turn up and perform superhuman feats, and I'm not gonna let myself forget how far I've come since beginning training. Main thing I'm worried about is whether I'll get any grief because of it, don't wanna turn up looking like the weak link.

Answering questions from people going to assessment centre

Just got back from assessment centre, did pretty well, top percentile of my group. Ask any questions, I'll probably have an answer.
