Dreaming of my Next Ice House Adventure

I am from Indiana and finally did a trip to LoTW with my Dad and Brother in an ice house last Jan. It was an absolute blast and I would happily book another trip.....but.....my Dad, who is getting up there in age, really enjoys catching a variety of species and would like to accommodate that for this year's trip, if possible. He is a huge pan fish guy but I love chasing eyes since we have very few lakes in IN with them. I'd worry any other place couldn't match the catch rate of LoTW, but wouldn't mind something with a good night bite to keep the action going longer.

What lakes should I be looking up?

Things I liked about LoTW:

- amount of fish caught

- able to drive out early January

- Having a town somewhat close just in case

Things I didn't like:

- one fish caught after 6:30pm - 24" eye at 1030pm.

- 12" sauger but shouldn't complain. A fish is a fish.

Appreciate any suggestions!

Need Better Water Circulation

I installed a pair of stairs and they are killing my circulation. I have always had my one jet angled to get circulation going and move the crud in the pool to the middle and made for easy vacuuming.

Would I be better off just having the jet shoot straight across to the opposite side? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Plastic bushings on throttle linkage need to go!

I have been a 2004 90hp Mercury 2-stroke owner for 5ish years and have gone through multiple plastic bushings that connect the metal throttle rod. When 3/4 throttle on the console the rod pops out of the bushing on the cam. With the throttle cable disconnected I can manually push and the rod does not pop out.

Pulled everything apart and it once again has a tiny crack on the cam side. This one was OEM, the previous ones were Amazon knock-offs. I found an Australian FB post where someone put together an adjustable throttle rod (see pic) and wondering if anyone else has done the same?

Do I just have a bent throttle rod? Is it normal for these bushing to wear out every year? Does the throttle cable have a bend or to much preload or too much slack? I've tried to link and sync, sync and link, sink and leak, blink and see...following the 60hp videos on YouTube from "Tim's Workshop TYJ" videos. The bushing has prolly been the problem the whole time and I have some on order...once again...but I'm really getting exhausted chasing down issues when these bushings seem to keep breaking.

I messed up...WOT screw

In a not so successful attempt to fix my boat, I adjusted the WOT screw a while back and posted about it on here. I ended up having gremlins of sort that I couldn't figure out and ended up sending to the marina down the street for repairs. Finally got the boat out for the first time since getting it back and they did an absolute amazing job, motor has never run better....... except for the motor tops out at 4200rpm, which I think is my fault as you can see from this post I made:

https://www.reddit.com/r/boating/s/nwWhzEdFoS

Is this something I can undo myself or need to go back to marina and have it done the right way?

They found a burnt up wire from the stator that they fixed, new plug b/c 2 of 3 were fouled, and supposedly rebuilt the carbs and did a link and sync. Should the WOT adjustment been something they looked into?
