Anyone used examplify on a computer with an AMD CPU

Incoming MS1 buying a new laptop. My school uses examplify to proctor exams. Has anyone had any trouble with running examplify on an AMD laptop? Specifically an AMD Ryzen AI 5 PRO 340. The examplify site says compatible with Intel and ARM based processors, but doesn't explicitly mention AMD.

Accepted MD only, but still want to conduct basic science research

I am in Canada. Only interviewed at one school, where I was waitlisted for MD/PhD. I didn't get off the waitlist, although I did get an MD only offer which I think I am going to accept. Considering the state of Med applications in Canada it would be a massive gamble for me to reapply.

Unfortunately, the school doesn't allow internal MD/PhD applications. I am still very interested in running a basic science research program down the road. What is my best option here? There are clinician investigator programs (CIP), but I am a little confused how those work if you don't already have a graduate degree. How would you guys proceed? Are bench labs willing to take MD students for summer research positions?

Thanks
