Do POD sellers actually need video mockups, or are static mockups enough?
I'm a visual designer, and I've used mockups for years to present my work. Most of the time, static mockups were enough.
But at one point I needed a video mockup, and I was surprised by how difficult it was to find something that worked the way I wanted.
Some options required quite a bit of work in Photoshop, while Blender could produce great results but meant learning 3D software, dealing with rendering, and spending much more time than I wanted just to create a product presentation.
So I started wondering: could a video mockup be as simple as adding your design and generating the finished video?
I ended up building a small tool around that idea. You add your artwork, and it generates a ready-to-use video mockup without needing Photoshop, Blender, or any 3D/rendering knowledge.
The T-shirt video attached to this post is one of the mockups I've been experimenting with.
It's still very early, and this is actually why I'm posting here. Before I spend too much time building more of them, I'd really like to understand whether this solves a real problem for POD sellers — or whether good static mockups are already enough for most shops.
Would you actually use video mockups like this for your product listings or social media?
If yes, what would matter most to you — realism, different models/scenes, ease of use, price, video length, or something else?
And if the answer is no, I'd genuinely like to hear that too. I'm trying to understand whether this is actually useful before I spend too much time building it.
