Always wanted the SARB033 since I started collecting watches in 2024 but I was about 5 years too late to buy one at their original marked price of 300 USD 😭 (probably wouldn't have been able to afford that back then anyway 😂)

Sometime last month, I happened to stay up very late at night searching for parts on Watch Parts Plaza (as is often the case when I'm unable to sleep 😅 ) and I found a genuine SARB033 dial just waiting to be bought. It wasn't cheap...

The dial alone cost 80 USD. But there was only 1 left in stock and I was determined to make it happen this time, cuz I had seen it and left it till it went out of stock multiple times before at as low as 40 USD... This time I decided I would just buy it, cuz f*** it...

After that, I needed to buy all the other parts that would make it at least look like the SARB033... I had searched and researched the exact way to make this many times before so I started searching for a Pagani Design PD1717, and normally I buy from Alibaba (AliExpress doesn't work in India)...

But though I found one for 90 USD, it was out of stock as per the seller and the available ones had a Miyota 8215 movement now... Not ideal...

Having run out of options, I went to Dream Watches... Yes, the scammy Indian website that sells Chinese watches at a mark up of nearly 100%... They thankfully had the NH35 version of the watch in stock but sold it at their usual MRP of INR 14k (about 140 USD)...

Suffice to say, my build was getting expensive because I had hesitated last time in 2025 March, when the watch was 70 USD on Alibaba and the dial was 30 USD 😭

But thankfully I got the watch and it worked well. I wore it in its original form as the Longines Spirit homage for a bit on a leather strap (didn't even remove the wrappers from the original metal strap yet for the final reveal later).

Finally, on Friday the dial arrived and they charged another INR 3k (30 USD) in customs... 😭😭😭

Today I assembled it into the case for the first time and... I think all that money was worth it... Right now I just cut off the dial feet and placed the dial into the case without any adhesive because I am going to change the date wheel to black too. The dauphine hands and the replacement black date wheel are still on their way from Alibaba, and I'm waiting for them eagerly!
