HP OfficeJet Pro 9010: Scan to mail, missing certificate
What would you like to troubleshoot?
Not sure if this fits in here, as it is about the scan feature of a printer.
Scan to mail stopped working a few days ago. The reason seems to be that the SMTP server I try to connect to (a well known public provider) updated their certificates.
Disabling certificate check would be an option, however this would be last resort, and may not be acceptable.
Minimum Requirements:
- Printer Model: HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series
- Error Message: (1) Protocol not supported. Check your network configurations and try again. (2) Invalid password input. Try again.
- Ethernet Cable, WiFi or USB: not relevant, WiFi
- Driver name and version:
- Firmware Version: latest, MANHTNPP1N002.2623A.00
- OS: not relevant, Fedora
- # of machines impacted: 1
- # of users impacted: 1
- Original or 3rd party cartridges: not relevant, original
Any other details:
The relevant root CA certificate did not change. However I tried to upload the intermediate certificate (Lets Encrypt YE), such that the chain would be: EE ← YE1 ← Root YE (tried) ← ISRG Root X2 ← ISRG Root X1 (Default)
This does not work however, and gives the error (2) reported above. The YE certificate is ECDSA, and it seems that RSA certificates can be uploaded without any issue.
Does anybody know if ECDSA certificates are supported by HP Printers, and how could I install the certificate by other means than via the EWS?
