I liked the recent post with the meanest Yakuza mugs and since there's the inevitable rainy streak in my holiday I challenged myself to draw them all. During the last two days I made it to 12 so far but the quality is starting to decline rapidly so here are only 9 of them (which don't make me cringe too hard: Shimano, Awano and Kuze were really 🫣).

I started with Shibusawa and as I was highly motivated I spent the most time with the sketch.

Just had to take a break from my holiday and sketch most of the day. After drawing Nancy earlier I thought it was time for a little bit of Ichiban again. Now that I got this out of my system I can hopefully continue "holidaying"🤞🏼

Followed a suggestion to draw Nancy. Added Olivia because why not draw more crustaceans while you're at it? Weird little freaks they are...

Am away from home visiting family. No gaming and - even worse - hardly any time to draw. Managed to do some sketching this morning and felt as if I've drawn this scene before. And I obviously did (second picture). But that's okay, I love Suzuki-san's face. Maybe I'll replay 5 again some time in the future...

Because it's been a few days!

...and I followed a suggestion to draw Kiryu's kick even though I prefer portraits. Not too sure about it but the fancy brushes in procreate were fun to use✨✨✨

Yeah, so I drew lots yesterday...

Reddit randomly wants me to credit the artist upon posting, so I swear reddit, everything is done by me✌🏼

We're having another heat wave where I live and I made the additional mistake drinking something caffeinated in the late afternoon, so I CAN'T GET NO SLEEP 🎶

What else can I do than draw?

While drawing this I thought the most unbelievable stuff they made us look at in the whole franchise was Kiryu doing research on a laptop (which is what he did before in the screenshot I used for this sketch)...

Just saw a picture of one of the IW loading screens and wanted to paint it. The painting is still wip but here is the sketch I made before starting and realizing this needs colour.

One of the characters I really like but hesitate to draw is Tomizawa. Like Nanba he has a special place in my heart. Problem is: glasses!

I just can't draw glasses!

Raaaaah!

I also tried to turn a digital drawing of Kiryu into a painting but it's the second attempt and I'm still not happy with it. Finally, my very first attempt at Tomizawa that looks kinda wonky but the GLASSES look almost alright.

Majima again. Will never get used to the two eyed version.

Another weird hybrid acrylics/digital painting and a quick sketch - inspired by my husband and his last night out (he's a wreck rn, alcohol abused HIM).

And since there was still time and wet paint left I started another painting... It's some kind of vicious circle: I pour paint and have the urge to use it before it dries. But then one thing is finished and there's still paint left. So it's off to the next project... "Fortunately" I'm running out of my favorite cardboard so this is about to stop soon...✌🏻🫠

This is a funny one. I started with acrylics on cardboard but had to eventually stop and go home.

Took a picture of the wip, looked at it later and thought "nooooo🫣".

Since I couldn't correct my numerous mistakes right away I decided to upload it in procreate and sketch what I want to do later today. Got carried away and now I've got this freak mixed media thing that I somehow like. Pretty sure I'm gonna ruin the actual painting later though😂😭

I didn't feel like painting seagulls or other touristy stuff and picked up an old unfinished canvas. It's still a work in progress atm. I wanted to keep parts of the background (for a now and then effect) but I think it doesn't work out as imagined. There's still a lot to do, I hope I won't abandon this version like the last one...🫣

It was so hot today I somehow didn't feel like using thick paint and watered it down. I only used black, a type of dark red and yellow and I kind of like the look. 🤔

Mineeee from before got a darker background yesterday but now his ears look very... mousey? 🐭

Anyway, now I'm heading back to Morning Glory to start the weekend with some island vibes. I didn't want to like Kiwami 3 as much but damn I'm having fun with the kids and all.

Ahahaha! I recently ordered a bunch of stickers from my drawings but obviously didn't bother to check the measurements. 🤦🏻

I have accidentally invented sticky confetti 🥳🥳🥳🫠

Still haven't met him in K3 because I just can't leave Okinawa but I had to draw a cat today so this is a wip of a current Miiineeee.

Also I'm a bit drunk because of football, sorry.
