im using fedora but there are a few things i dont like it, the packcage manager is really slow and a few other issues have been popping up

ive been wanting to switch but im lowkey scared to becuz i have an old ass canon lbp3010 printer and thats only really easy to set up on fedora and debian (since those are the distros canon makes the drivers for)

and NO just using the ppd does not work on any distro ive tried

other than printing stuff i also want it to be stable, i want it to be not too easy to use but also not insanely hard.. i want the installation to be simple cuz i always get incredibly anxious with installations when theyre a bit more complex (like arch)!!! i also want it to have a decent package manager

i have intel graphics so dont worry about whether or not the graphics will work on the distrobution

also these are some operating systems i didnt like/that didnt work:
nixos
ubuntu
mint
pop_os

prolly a weird ass question but my mum always needs me to print stuff and ive had trouble with printer drivers on arch linux so im scared to switch to nixos

i live in iraq and there are alot of blocked websites here and the best way to get around that is to change my ipv4 dns, vpns are like WAY too slow no matter which one ive even tried paid ones..

i want to change my dns but i have had no luck at all. i tried just going to the settings and changing the ipv4 dns in my network settings but it does nothing. when i try to change the ipv6 one as well to see if it works the internet just stops connecting altogether. ive tried to look for solutions but ive had no luck.

i also tried stuff with the terminal but i couldnt relaly figure that out

firstly, there are many times where the framerate becomes incredibly jagged and choppy. i have set my refresh rate to 60hz but it feels like 24hz sometimes and it really bugs me. ive found threads talking about this but the people in the threads do not have the same specifications as me and the solutions never work! i have an intel core i5 and intel iris xe graphics (i know my specs are shit hahaha)

secondly, the time is wrong like all of the time. its always like 2 hours ahead and even when i set it back it just goes back to being wrong. not sure why this happens

thirdly, it keeps inverting the colours in firefox, i have dark mode on in firefox so it just makes it light for no reason and i cant change it in the settings so i have to restart firefox completely. SO frustrating!!!

fourth... whenever i try to install local packages it just doesnt let me. it says stuff about dependencies but i HAVE those dependencies. so im not sure what it wants
