Wanting a Truck Camper
Hello, I am getting rid of my shitty old car (mazda 6, no ac, no space). i love camping, road-trips, music festivals, and i have become hooked on the idea of a truck camper. I don’t owe a truck and would love input on what kind of truck i should look for, when looking to invest in a truck camper.
I have found a very good deal for a 1970 (ish) truck bed camper. previous owners don’t know the exact year. it has aluminum siding, stove, running water, fridge, no bathroom, 6 ft. the previous owner says a 150 truck could pull it. but what i have been seeing about truck campers, are that 250 are best. and i am struggling to know which i need.
I live in a city and don’t really need the power of a 250 all the time, besides when pulling the camper. i would only be using the camper a handful of times a year (for camping/roadtrips) no plans to live in it longterm. i plan to go on the road max of a week or two at a time. I know 4wd is a must, as well as a bed at least 6ft long. What else should i be looking for?
