Patio Doors?

Patio doors, yay or nay?

We are finalizing the floor plan for our forever home.
We are stuck on if we would like patio doors from the dining room out onto the deck or not.

We live in Canada, so they would only be used for half of the year. Plus, I’m sure they will leak cold air in the winter months and let in a lot of heat in the summer, as they will be facing Southwest.

Are we better just to put a nice big window and go out the front door if we want to go out onto the deck?

Front Living Floorplan

Okay, we are just starting to look at floor plans for our forever home. We are planning to get an RTM built and moved into our yard.

The back of the house will be against trees, so we want all of our main living spaces to be at the front of the house as well as the main foyer on the front overlooking our yard. It is so hard to come by a floor plan with the living spaces all at the front of the house and the bedrooms is more towards the back and sides.

This is the only plan I can find! But it doesn’t feel like it flows properly. Can anyone help? Or know of any similar plans?!
