OG Xbox/Xemu on Batocera

Hi guys. I'm looking for some help. I've made some upgrades to my system, and OG Xbox is functioning WORSE than when I started.

My original setup:

Lenovo M920Q mini PC with a

-i5-9500T (35w, 6 cores, 6 threads)

-Integrated GPU

Performance: OG Halo played moderately well. Sega 2000 GT (the game I most wanted to play) was smooth but at a very low frame rate and unplayable.

Updates:

-Upgraded CPU to i7-8700 (6 cores, 12 threads).

-Installed a RTX 3050

-Added the southbridge heat sink

-upgraded the CPU cooler to the 65 w version with the upgraded fan

-Installed a new case lid with the ventilation on the top.

Current performance is terrible. Xbox animation at start up is choppy. Audio is choppy. Halo and Sega 2000 GT both freeze transitioning through menus.

Troubleshooting I've done so far:

- Per my research, bios was updated for the new CPU.

- Nvidia drivers are installed and seem to be functioning properly. Increased resolution in other game systems and handling shaders is much improved.

-Temperatures seem to be fine. So far between 40-55c.

-I've tried open GL and Vulkan. Vulkan is slightly better, but overall still has the same problems.

I did a bunch of research and watched a ton of videos trying to buy the items that would help me achieve my goal, and I can't figure why it's not performing.

Are my expectations too high? Am I missing some setting that will improve performance? Other suggestions?

Batocera.conf Problem

A couple weeks ago Batocera stopped opening all games. It would try to open them, then kick me back out to the UI. When this happened, I had moved my USB between a few machines while working it.

I found a comment somewhere that talked about deleting the Batocera.conf file and restarting the machine. That did the trick!

A couple days ago the system started exhibiting the same problems. I deleted the Batocera.conf file and restarted and it worked.

It's happened several times since then, and I'm not sure why.

What could happen to the Batocera.conf file that would cause this problem? And most importantly, what can I do to stop it from happening?
