Hormone Therapy question

Good day fellow prostate cancer brothers. I have learned so much from this group as I have been healing from my prostatectomy last year on June 6th. My uncle has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and he chose radiation. He’s hoping to keep all functionality as we all would. His doctor is currently giving him 5 weeks of hormone therapy prior to radiation.

My aunt contact me yesterday and said after only a week his PSA is now 1.95 his previous was 27. My aunt is yelling praise the Lord he’s cured but they haven’t treated the actual cancer. I do understand that the hormone therapy suppresses hormones to starve the cancer but it is not a long term solution, correct? Had any one gone through this? Did your PSA go down? If so what does it mean so early on? Thank you for any assistance.

I’m finding more guys besides myself, my father and grandfather have higher PSA in our family of have secretly had treatment or may have died from this disease.

Thank you again for sharing and educating.

Bed pads

After my prostatectomy just over a year ago June 6, 2025, my mom bought my washable large bed pads for leaking. I didn’t even have to open them all but they definitely came in handy. From Amazon by the way. One year later to the date my body has decided to have erections from visual stimulation, no pills, no injections, just natural boners. I feel blessed. Had to pull the bed pads back out though.Climacturia - urine ejaculations is occurring and though I originally thought it was gross, my husband loves it . It’s a mixture or urine and precum. The bed pads have a use again but this time I’m happy to lay one out. I’m thanking God that my body is settling into new normal. My urologist says in about 2 more years time I may eventually see some of my missing 3 inches come back but not all. Time and patience really do matter. Still trying to get use to my penis retraction. It’s uncomfortable and I don’t have the confidence I use to have swinging but my husband has been so supportive so that’s what matters. Hopefully this gives some hope to you guys that may feel depressed like I’ve been feeling the last several months and thank for the support and knowledge from this group. This is a journey. 💙
