Hello everyone,

I am 28 and looking for people to play soccer with. I love watching soccer but unfortunately never had time or people to play with. Now that I have both, I would love to join any group around town? If there are any soccer lessons for adults I would be happy to know about that too.

I know there is a league for adults but there is no information on how to join solo. I can only see option to register as a team.

What are some good swimming facilities? I know ymca has a pool but I can’t afford ymca membership just for the pool. Any alternatives?

Hey everyone,

I do not know if anyone else here is going through something similar, but if you are, you are definitely not alone.

A little about me. I graduated with an MSCS and currently work as an SDE at a company on the East Coast in a relatively low cost of living area. Lately I have been feeling really demotivated because of my salary. I make 76k now after starting at 65k a couple of years ago.

When I graduated, the market was rough. Layoffs were happening everywhere, and as someone with zero experience at the time, I took the offer I got because I was honestly just grateful to have a job. Now it has been about two and a half years, and sometimes it gets hard not to compare myself to others. I genuinely do not know anyone in my friend circle making less than I do in software engineering.

I am not struggling financially day to day, and I know there are people dealing with much harder situations. But mentally it still gets to me. Seeing constant layoffs makes it harder to even feel confident enough to apply elsewhere, and being on a visa adds another layer of pressure and uncertainty.

I guess I just wanted to get this off my chest. Maybe some of you can relate.
