MAF reread

OK it's been a while and maybe I just need to keep reading. Have I picked up on something?

They're at the job interview dinner at the house of wind, Feyre has just accepted the offer to work with Rhys and they're talking about the Sangravah raid.

Rhys mentions that Azriel confirmed the memorial in Sangravah was raided in search of something to aid in reviving Jurian.

Then, "Azriel nodded in confirmation, even as Mor threw a surprised look in his direction. Azriel gave her an apologetic shrug back."

What's with the surprise? Wasn't she there? What's with the apology? What am I missing?

Audiobooks character interpretation

For my 're-read' I decided to delve into the graphic audio versions. I'm at the start of MAF.

Given the map is a decent copy of the UK I did imagine the characters having various British accents. But what's given me pause is not just the accent itself, but the delivery of the lines. I imagined the characters being more refined and measured.

It's totally thrown me off and I wonder how much of the voice actors' interpretation of the characters might colour that of those who listened to the book vs read them. This would be an interesting study within the context of the ship wars.

Lucien for example, in my head his accent would have been one difficult to peg down because he'd be capable of code switching based on whatever court he was in. I also read his lines with dry wit rather than bitchy annoyed guy. He's not as alluring to me this way, which would have been one of the very few points in that ship's favour. Same with Nesta. I imagined her more deadpan and less catty Regina George.

What I'm getting from Feyre and Rhysand is Hilary Duff and Christopher Moltisanti 🙈

I haven't come across Az yet, almost scared to. But already I find it difficult on a surface level to match up Elain (combo of Gretchen and boobs predict the weather girl) and Lucien based on their character interpretations in the GA alone. Maybe I've gone into this biased and would have always felt this way. I did genuinely want to go into this re-read open minded but haven't been able to shake this take. It is early on, so maybe things will change as I progress through the stories.

Sorry that this is a random non specific ramble, just curious about everyone's experiences.

What's the plan upon book 6 release?

I was in another book series subreddit and saw that they'd just lifted ban on posting about a recently released book. Thoughts?

I have not been in this fandom for that long to know if there is any sort of process or etiquette when a book is released. Is it just a case of avoiding Reddit? Probably.

Entitlement

Antis like to give Azriel a hard time saying he feels entitled to Elain. But wasn't it Lucien that said "You're MY mate"?  Why not "We are mates" or even "I'm your mate"?

He even talks about her as "his mate" through gritted teeth, etc.

Elain was just seen as this pretty frilly object that was rolled out to the room to make nice with him when he visited only because she was "his" and there are heavy societal expectations on what is meant to unfold. Hence why I think "the third was given to another" is a remark on the objectification of her due to her mating bond rather than Az saying "give her to meeee, I am owed her".

He could have said "tell me how it's possible my brothers have been 'given' two of those sisters... ".

What else could I be doing?

Please be gentle. Clueless overwhelmed mum here trying to invest for my child. Got gifted a lump sum when he was born and thought he could do better than a term deposit.

He's also on a $7 weekly kids autoinvest order and then has shares in other companies that I selected out of ignorance. NVIDIA I learnt about lurking on reddit.

It seems to be doing well yet I can't help but worry I'm overlooking something or it's going to go pearshaped. Is that just a general feeling while investing or am I actually that ignorant?
