Suggestions on Paver Step on slope
I'm nearing the point in a DIY paver patio project that I need to make a decision on a running step at an existing concrete patio. The paver install will have a slope both away from the foundation and from the perpendicular garage, resulting in a 14" and 15.5" height (picture). Don't mind the two loose coping blocks, it was measured from the set blocks underneath, the beginning height the step would be placed on.
My current plan is to use three layers of pavers (2 3/8" x 3 = 7 1/8" rise) and just accept the difference at the higher point.
It was mentioned to use mortar, but I worry about any staining on the underlying pavers.
Does r/hardscape have any suggestions at this stage of the project on how to proceed?
