Should techs be able to view SOs and mark items as delivered?

Questions for other companies who use Sales Orders. I am a Procurement/Billing/Finance dept of 1. I am trying to add checks and balances into the system and eliminate vulnerabilities.

tldr What is the downside to allowing provisioning techs to see Sales Orders? Do other MSPs allow this or is it considered bad practice?

Background: Currently I order the item requested, receive it into stock on the PO, and then I am expected to switch over to the SO and mark it as delivered so I can enter in the S/N of the device.

I think these jobs should be separated, and Procurement should receive on PO and Provisioning should mark items as delivered on the SO once they get them set-up and ready. Provisioning is made up of our most junior techs, however, so management doesn't like this idea. If I push back about doing it, they are suggesting the provisioning tech's manager be handed the package to mark it as delivered on the SO and then hand it over to provisioning with a sticky note on it marking what ticket/customer it belongs to. And then the provisioning tech will also have to manually type the s/n or part number directly into the ticket as the check and balance.

To address managements concerns, is it possible for techs be given restricted access to SOs? Perhaps be given permission to only mark as delivered but not edit and maybe remove the price/cost columns on their view? If so, can someone share the config settings so I can try and get this approved and ask our Halo admin?

Thanks for your input!
