Early War Goal Was to Install Hard Line Former President as Iran’s Leader

Early War Goal Was to Install Hard Line Former President as Iran’s Leader

Mods: let me know/remove the post if this is too much geopolitics versus defence, but what drew my attention was this line below reeks of terrible strategy

>There are many unanswered questions about how Israel and the United States planned to put Mr. Ahmadinejad in power, and the circumstances surrounding the airstrike that injured him. American officials said that the strike — carried out by the Israeli Air Force — was meant to kill the guards watching over Mr. Ahmadinejad as part of a plan to release him from house arrest.

What is the worst but plausible weapon system that Taiwan could buy?

Imagine that you are President of the United States, but you are a traitor. You are currently mulling an arms deal to Elbonia Taiwan that seems plausible (read: something that the Legislative Yuan of Taiwan would believe) but in reality would be terrible to implement or would be completely ineffective when comes to actual defense.

What of the arsenal of democracy would you sell them that would seem like a good idea that they would buy, but be completely useless?

PS: The Elbonia reference is a series of videos from military Youtube where people try to sell plausible but bad weapons, see ForgottenWeapons first example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_19y3ZWCbNc&t=3263s
