Wpild you rather live in California or Mississippi?

I saw a question in a liberal sub asking why the left doesn't attack poorly performing Red States like Mississippi the same way the right demonized California.

Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Oklahoma are all consistently ranked near the bottom of states to live in. New Mexico is the only blue state that is ranked roughly as low.

So what is the general response to these poorly performing Red States and how they reflect on Republican governance.

Aragorn vs. Beowulf

As many of you know Tolkien took a great deal of inspiration from old and middle English tales and poetry. He lifted names and ideas as well as his inspiration for his dragon from this genre. He also translated Beowulf himself.

How do we think Tolkien's creation would fare against a source of his inspiration.

How does Psyillium Husk and other supplements fit into the fasting portion of intermittent fasts?

I use Psyillium Husk to get additional fiber and reduce cravings throughout the day. I am currently going for a roughly 16-8 intermittent fasting schedule, but I take at least a tablespoon of Psyillium Husk with ample water at least 30 minutes before eating. I also take my other supplements before that to prevent absorption issues.

My question is, is Psyillium Husk in water more like drinking black coffee or tea when it comes to fasting, or should I think of Psyillium more like a broth or even actual food where it counts as breaking my fast?

Similarly should any supplements that have low or no Calories only be ingested during your feeding widnow?

Should Democrats run "Willie Horton" style ads criticizing Trumps pardons for the midterms?

Trump pardoned a bunch of J6ers who went on to re-offend. The criminal offenses included pedophilia, domestic, abuse and that's not including the pardons he's giving out to the wealthy.

Could that be used by Democrats if framed as putting a check on Trump or is that too convoluted for the Midterms?

Is the idea that we shouldn't "give a platform" still a thing for people left of center?

I kinda thought that that particular viewpoint had fallen out of favor at this point. I thought that the current perspective was that democrats, liberals, and leftists needed to get in the arena and refute bad talking points like Pete Buttigeg does or podcasters will do, but recently I've seen just a handful of comments of people complaining about platforming people.

Is Deplatforming still a common view or were those outliers? What is the current consensus around the public square, is the left saying the right answer is to fight bad claims or to avoid giving them attention?
