I dunno if this is old news, but I can't find anything pertaining specifically to Albemarle/Cville and BLD and VA Dept. of Forestry hasn't updated their confirmed spread in a while.

There's a very large concentration of Beech trees in the creek gully between Dunlora and River Run, and every other tree has these dark bands on the leaves now, and said leaves are already turning brittle.

I'm 99.99% sure that we've got Beech Leaf Disease here. At the very least, I 100% don't remember the leaves looking like this last year.

It's really tragic, if I'm right this whole ravine will be next to barren in a few years time.

I sent an email to the Department of Forestry, and encourage others who see Beech leaves looking like this to document them and do the same.
