After a full year on minoxidil and two months on finasteride
22M here. I’ll be turning 23 next week.
I started losing hair from genetic male pattern hair loss when I was 15.
Note: The thicker-looking hair at my frontal hairline is transplanted hair. Unfortunately, the transplant failed. Please don’t judge my hairline based on the transplanted hair.
• I’ve been using topical minoxidil 5% twice daily with a dermaroller for 1 year.
• I added tretinoin cream and Nizoral shampoo 6 months ago.
• I added oral finasteride 1 mg 2 months and 1 week ago.
I know 2 months isn’t enough time to judge finasteride, but I don’t want to waste any more time. Based on my situation, is it unlikely to get good density with finasteride?
Would you recommend switching to dutasteride? What dose would you suggest? And should I switch now or wait longer? This has become a nightmare for me.
I would be very grateful for any advice.
