I don´t get trials anymore. For nearly a month now.

Don´t know why. Had 3 in July and 100% conversion.
I am ranked 1-3 always.
People save me as favourite - i write them - nobody answers. Feels like bots.
It´s strange. Never had that before.
I am getting nervous.

No trials at all these days…

do you experience the same? Regulars are on holidays, no new clients.
My revenue dropped 25%. ;(

Quick question for experienced tutors: I need to take some time off and I'm trying to figure out the least damaging way to do it.

I have several recurring weekly lessons that are already saved as locked time slots. My main concerns:

  1. Algorithm impact: Is it better to use Preply's built-in vacation feature or to simply block off the days manually? Has anyone noticed a difference in how the algorithm treats these two approaches?

  2. Student lessons: What actually happens to my students' scheduled hours during vacation? I won't have enough availability within the same month to reschedule all of them. Does Preply nudge students toward other tutors during that time? Or do the lessons just get postponed?

  3. Student communication: Should I message my regulars directly before setting the vacation, or does Preply notify them automatically? I'd rather not have my students get matched with someone else just because I took a week off.

Sitting at 1,500+ hours and I've built up a solid roster of regulars, so I'm more worried about losing students than losing ranking. Any advice from tutors who've been through this appreciated.

Hey fellow Preply tutors,

I'm in a bit of a slow phase right now and thinking about temporarily lowering my hourly rate to attract some new students. But I'm worried about one thing:

What actually happens to my existing students who are currently subscribed at my higher rate? Specifically:

  • Do they get notified that I've changed my price?
  • Can they see the new (lower) price on my profile and start wondering why they're paying more?
  • If they have unused hours in their current package, does the price stay locked at the rate they originally booked?
  • Has anyone had a student confront them about this – like "Hey, I see your rate is now $X but I'm paying $Y"?

I don't want to lose the income from my current students or create an awkward situation. At the same time, I need to fill some empty slots.

Would love to hear from anyone who's been through this. Did you lower your rate temporarily without any issues, or did it backfire?

Thanks in advance!
