[OC] [Art] Dire Mountain Lion by Josiah Cameron

These beasts are infused with elemental energy connected with rock and stone. Plates of rock jut from their thick fur, giving them excellent defenses. Preferring cold environments, dire mountain lions are largely found in the Frostcaps and the upper peaks of Stormcrag on the continent of Wesden. They are highly territorial and use their magical roar to drive off intruders with powerful earthquakes. Although humanoids are not their favorite prey, they will attack travelers given the opportunity.

The dire mountain lion was illustrated by Josiah Cameron for Humblewood: Beyond the Canopy.

[OC] [Art] Doom Duck by Justin Chan

“Oh, hi there, little buddy! You’re so cute! Let me just—AAAAAAAGGGGGHHH, NOOOOOOO!” These are the last words of the most recent person to die to the doom duck. Don’t let its cuteness fool you, this duck is actually a demon in disguise. Those downy feathers? Razor-sharp. That cute quack? An earthquake trigger. Those adorable eyes? Lasers. You see this monster, you run for your QUACKing life.

The doom duck was created by Felix Irnich and illustrated by Justin Chan for Fool's Gold: Into the Bellowing Wilds.

As a companion piece to the Apple Tree Dragon, meet the Manchineel Dragon!

The manchineel dragon was created and illustrated by Kin Wald for The Field Guide to Floral Dragons.

The first manchineel dragon was the sibling of the apple tree dragon. Unlike its sibling, it grew up alone and unloved, an experience that hardened its heart and embittered it. Now, manchineel dragons harbor an innate drive toward retribution against those who wrong them. Because of this, they are sympathetic to humanoids who are plotting vengeance.

A manchineel dragon excretes a toxic sap that runs through its tough, bark-like scales and deep green leaves. Even the smallest drop of the milk-white, oily sap inflicts horrific acidic burns. Manchineel dragons can contaminate entire forests with their sap.

New manchineel dragons are created when a large fragment of an adult’s horn falls in blood-soaked soil. The fragment of horn sinks deep into the soil, and enriched by the blood, a new manchineel wyrmling forms.
