but coming back and listening to their recent Marvel Super Heroes set review, there's this one guy now that is an absolute fucking yapper. Ben Wheeler I think is his name. I love Graham and Kathleen (politics aside) and the rest of the crew but I'm seeing this guy pop up on a lot of the Magic stuff and he's kind of insufferable. And where the hell is Paul?
The main sub posted an article proclaiming the SoS pre-release was the biggest turnout since War of the Spark. Now I do not play Magic regularly anymore and haven't attended an FNM in years.
Now comments on the main sub are saying they're LGS had 90, 100, 120 etc. Attendees for the pre release. I'm a bit perplexed by these claims. I've heard LGS' are not really firing off standard because no interest. Also that Commander is the only worthwhile format nowadays. In addition to that I've heard anecdotes of LGS sitting on product and straight up not getting enough product or very little in some cases.
My point is, why do these claims of prerelease attendance numbers feel a bit exaggerated given the economic climate and the other observations I mentioned. And if these numbers are real, I imagine these LGS' are doing gangbusters if even 30% of the pre release crowd are regulars at their local LGS. I'm inLGS.
What has been your guys experience at the pre release if you attended?
