Let's Sign Ben Simmons?

Our center situation is still a mystery. We will get Duren back...but who knows what his attitude will be. We don't know if Reed can play extended minutes as he seems to get gassed at times when playing extended minutes. I have no idea how Detroit feels about Tolu Smith. And Ugonna Onyenso does not look nearly ready from what we've seen in Summer League.

Let's take a swing on the guy.

He is a great defender that fills three our needs:

  1. A big
  2. A playmaker to help relieve Cade at times
  3. Good athleticism as the roller for diving into the paint

We lost Stew, so our best defending big is gone. With Cade, he will be relieved from making big decisions as the head of the snake. He just needs to know how to set solid picks for Cade and make the solid kick out or find the open man when playing Point Center. Bully his way to the paint ala LeBron, take what the defense gives him. We've upped our 3 point shooting, so we will have those options.

And hopefully Cade can keep him in the correct mindset throughout the season so he doesn't crash out.

Best Companies to work for to work on the ocean?

EDIT: I am a US Citizen, so I don't think I can work for any Australian companies until I have at least a year of experience. That really is my dream to work for an Australian company in about a year as it seems they

I have received most all of my information thus far from Claude and ChatGPT.

It seems Transocean is the best company to work for and I had applied to them hoping to get hired in January. But I haven't received any word from them yet. Application just sits as "Application In-Progress"

What other companies are good companies that will take on a green worker looking for a roustabout position? I'm looking to work in the Gulf of Mexico or near Asia as I want to try living in South America or parts of Asia in my off-time to save money for retirement.
- Valaris
- Noble Corporation
- Helmerich & Payne

Edit: Transocean does indeed match 401k contribution 200% up to 5% of your paycheck. Amazing!

Thanks for any help. pay more and I would be able to live in Vietnam.

Transocean reimburses certifications?

I applied for a roustabout position to Transocean on June 1st, 2026. In my application, I stated I was looking for a January 2027 hirer so I can save up money, tie up loose ends at my job, complete my current lease and get the necessary certifications that I found from using AI.

I have received my TWIC card.

I am planning to go to Houston in October to complete:
- BOSIET w/ CA-EBS
- MIST
-Offshore Medical Exam

Question is if you get these completed and you are hired, does Transocean reimburse you for these?

Also, should I be worried if after two months, I have not received any word? I don't see roustabout positions advertised anymore on the DeepWater website, but my application in their portal states "Application In Progress". This still gives me hope.
