Alpha Long worth waiting for?

Hey everyone,

i am using a C4 in my Kia Niro 2023 that unfortunately currently only supports lateral. I am waiting to get alpha long working some day (looking at you ESCC CAN-FD 👀)

My car has decent SCC that does the job on highway drives just fine but is just too dumb for country roads or sharper turns to slow down, slow down ahead of stopped cars (not last moment braking) etc...

So in the meantime I would like to hear from actual alpha-long users how the experience is? Is it even worth waiting for? What and when are you using it?

C4 bricked after flashing through official flasher tool?

Hey,

I ran into an issue when uninstalling nightly-dev that can be found here: https://github.com/commaai/openpilot/issues/38034

Had to use the flasher tool then to get back out of that bug using https://flash.comma.ai but that seems to not be working correctly which leaves me stuck at the attached screen immediately on power-up. Did reflash 3 times, same outcome.

Am i doomed?
