Blood clot? 10 days post op ultrasound today….

Hi all! Has anyone else developed a blood clot or went in for an ultrasound to check if you had one? I am at day 10 post surgery and my foot still turns purple and my leg feels heavy when I go to stand and doesn’t go away until I sit with my leg up. Even when I go to sit with my leg elevated my leg kind of feels heavy and weird and I’ve been getting nerve pain. I’m just waiting for the hospital to call me back with an appointment time today I guess. The medical assistant left me a message and said instead of going to the ER they will call you with an appointment time so I’m assuming it would be today. Just wanted to get some thoughts ❤️‍🩹🙏🩼thank you

Allograft donor info etc

Hi all! So I just got the Lifenet health card that gives me my donor number on it. I had no idea this was even a thing because everyone always talks about organ donation but I had no idea tissues and tendons etc. could be donated. There is even a place where I can send a thank you card which I think is great. Has anyone on this forum elected to know who the person was that gave the donation?

Venous blood pooling in foot day 4 post op

Hi all! I’m on the end of day 4 post op. Has anyone else experienced Venus blood pooling in the foot of your surgical leg? I already messaged my PT and my surgeon. Whenever I get up to use my crutches I am allowed to weight bear and I do my foot turns a purpleish bluish color and my leg feels heavy and uncomfortable. I don’t crutch around for too long and then I will go and sit back on the couch. Within about 30 seconds my foot appears normal again. When I stand up it happens almost instantly same thing about 30 seconds. I have an ice machine I have an elevation pillow I elevate all night and I get up every hour to move. Heel slides four times a day and ankle pumps. I see my PT on Thursday and my first post surgery visit on Friday. Anyone else experience this that could give me some insight and some reassurance? My surgeon just told me to keep doing ankle pumps and elevating my leg over my heart for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. Thank you!

Had Acl reconstruction with an allograft and internal brace today….anyone else?

Hi all does anyone else have an allograft with an internal brace? I don’t know which tendon this allograft came from….forgot to ask. If there are surgery notes I’ll look at those or message the surgeons office. I’ve been doing great so far 12 hours post op. I had a meniscus trim too.

ACL meniscus done!

Was hoping for the bear implant that did not happen so instead of a quad graft….. I opted for an alograft. I talked to the surgeon right before surgery because I had a sneaking suspicion the implant would not work. I’m just happy to have it done! The surgery the anesthesia was the easiest thing ever! I was joking I’ll do it again tomorrow ha ha part of the ACL club now! 💜💪🩼 i’m 45 for reference and very active with yoga and walking and training dogs.

Timeline for back to yoga & dog walking

Hi all! I am having my ACL and meniscus surgery on August 6. I will hopefully be getting the bear implant for my ACL and a meniscus trim. I am a Yoga Teacher and I also walk and train dogs. So therefore I’m a pretty active person and I enjoy lifting weights. I am a 45-year-old female for context. I’ve never had surgery and this is my first real injury. I’ve been doing lots of prehab since the second part of my injury about a month or so ago. The first part of my injury was about eight weeks ago at the gym doing a Roundhouse kick kicking a heavy hanging punching bag because I thought it would be fun oops the second part of the injury a month later I was in the yard with a dog and went to pivot and my knee buckled and then heard that lovely snapping sound. The first injury I heard a snapping sound and my knee buckled as well but I really wasn’t swollen after. The second round of injury I knew I did it in and I had lots of swelling up until about a week and a half ago. I’m trying to give myself some sort of a timeline for when I might be able to slowly get back into gently walking easy dogs and teaching yoga again. I am thinking probably closer to the end of October? I will be right back to PT a week after my surgery. Thank you 🙏💪💜☮️

Thoughts inconclusive mri partial acl tear? And medial meniscus tear…

Hi all! Long story I have a two-part injury. About six weeks ago I was at the gym and decided to use a heavy hanging punching bag. I am 45 and female to give some context. I have never injured myself in my life. So I went to go do a round house kick on the heavy punching bag and then when I landed my knee buckled felt like it dislocated and I heard a little snap. I thought my knee joint was just a little lax so I went downstairs and continued a workout. That next week and a half I rested a little bit and wore a compression sleeve. And then I just resumed normal activities. I did notice some buckling here and there up until the second injury. The second injury happened same knee when I was in the yard walking a dog and I went to pivot my knee buckled really bad and then I heard it even louder snap like an elastic band. So now these past two weeks my knee has been very swollen and I just got an MRI yesterday. I also have been to PT five times already. Here is what the MRI says:

any thoughts?

I have also been on crutches since the injury and can partial weight bear but I can’t fully extend my leg upon standing. If my leg is hanging for too long it is bothersome. The PT the other day tried to have me put full weight on my left knee but it felt very unstable. I still have quite a bit of swelling at times. Thanks!
