American in the hyper Conservative South

I'm a very open minded American living in a southern state, but grew up in a Midwestern city. I'm involved in politics and practice as an attorney, but cannot stand our political climate and havent for decades. I could go into all the reasons I know our country engaged with Iran, but I dont want to go on a 2 page pissed off diatribe.

What I will say as an American on our 4th of July Independence day celebration is that many many many Americans dont want was is going on. It is bullshit showmanship to a country that can scare Americans into thinking your country is a threat. Our cabinet is a circle jerk of out of touch people trying to get a rise to reinforce starting unnecessary wars to legitimize military spending

We know. Trust us. We know we look like complete assholes. I'm not asking for empathy, but just want to say there are more of us even where I live making moves behind the scenes and playing the long game and setting pieces in motion to cut this shit out.

So watch the Trump shit show, but know that many of us still do respect other nations, cultures, ethnic backgrounds. I, and many of my colleagues, are embarassed on a day to day basis, but I promise while it might get worse before it gets better, it will get better.

I wanted to see you guys kick the shit out of some teams in the WC
