I lived in Russia during the war. Do you think another mobilization is coming?
I’m Russian, and I lived in Russia for five years, most of that time during the war with Ukraine.
I’m completely against this war. My heart goes out to the Ukrainians who have lost loved ones and to everyone whose homes and lives have been devastated.
Living in Russia during that time, I saw a huge amount of war propaganda. At my school, children were taught about weapons from a young age and were told that Russia was “defending” itself from Ukraine. I found it disturbing how normal all of it had become.
I also saw how military service was promoted to young men. In my opinion, many were influenced by propaganda, financial pressure, or promises that didn’t match reality.
Watching the destruction in Ukraine has been heartbreaking. Homes, schools, hospitals, and playgrounds have been destroyed, and countless civilians have suffered.
This is just my personal experience from living in Russia during the war. I’m interested in hearing other perspectives. Do you think Russia will announce another mobilization? Do you think the war is likely to escalate further, or do you see a different path?
