Neck, Jaw, and Ear pain
Hello,
Could really use some help. Back in January of this year, I started to experience what felt like TMJ pain/neck pain/ear pressure. It wouldn’t start happening until later at night, but progressively over the full aching pain started at 8 am.
It feels like this pressure radiating from my sub occipital muscles, through my skull, into my upper jaw, ears and nose.
At times my teeth have gone numb. But that has stopped the past few months. But the pressure is still there.
I have been to my dentist, was told it was allergies and mouth grinding. So I got a mouth guard, was religious about Neti pots and allergy meds- didn’t work. Then he recommended me to two people for TMJ. One of the doctors made me see an ENT and they said my ears look fine and maybe it’s a neuropathy issue. The other said it was for sure TMJ and put me on a muscle relaxer and offered me to come in for a Botox shot if that didn’t work.
Popping my ears gives a very quick temporary relief for about 5 seconds. I feel like there’s a lump right under my skull but can’t tell if it’s a lump or just my bone.
I’ve been to a massage multiple times, I’ve been to a chiropractor twice. Both said my muscles are tight from lifting, but I’ve literally been stretching for 30 minutes a day, I sit at home and use heating pads all the time and stretch,
Nothing is helping and idk what to do anymore. So many different routes to go down. Has anyone experienced anything similar?
