Greedy Towing tactics in Parkside Neighborhood

I woke up this morning to find that my car, along with many others, had been towed. This is a greedy cash grab done by the city that ultimately ends up punishing residents who are just trying to park near their homes. At most, cars should’ve been ticketed, not towed. There is literally nothing to clean off the streets right now - it was completely unnecessary.

I live on State street and was parked on Mellen Street last night. I am aware of the street sweeping parking regulations and follow them as best as I can. I thought I had parked on the correct side of the street last night, as that side of the street was completely full of cars and there was no where else to park anywhere close of the vicinity of my apartment. It was late, and I was prepared to be ticketed if I was wrong and I have paid off all my other parking tickets. Instead I had to pay $135 in cash to a towing company in sopo and take time off work to deal with this situation.

These towing practices, along with the city’s push for expanded paid parking hours and no longer allowing free parking on Sundays seem to unfairly punish the people who work and live in Portland. It feels impossible to be a resident in this city sometimes.

Anyone else have their car towed on Park street or the surrounding area?
