There’s been a lot of discussion around reselling individual items from the Harrods 2026 Fragrance Advent Calendar.

Our current rule caps a complete calendar at £275, but individual items can currently be sold separately. This can mean someone keeps part of the calendar while listing the remaining items for more than the permitted price of the full calendar.

Rather than changing the rule retrospectively, I’d like the community to decide how this should work going forward.

Proposed maximum asking prices for Harrods 2026 calendar items:

We’ve launched a new automated transaction reputation system for r/UKFragranceSwap.

Once a sale, purchase or trade is fully complete, both users can confirm the transaction and build a visible reputation history.

Your flair will automatically update to show:

Buys: 3 | Sales: 5 | Swaps: 2

No setup is required.
The bot assigns and updates your reputation flair automatically.

🤝 HOW TO CONFIRM A TRANSACTION

Only confirm once you have received everything, you’re happy with the transaction, and it is fully complete.

1. Leave a confirmation comment

Either person leaves a top-level comment on the original listing:

!confirm u/Username

Replace Username with the Reddit username of the person you completed the transaction with.

2. The bot replies

The bot will tag the other person and ask them to confirm.

3. The other person replies directly to the bot

confirmed

4. Reputation is awarded ✅

That’s it.

The transaction is recorded and both users’ reputation totals are updated automatically.

🔄 POSTS OFFERING BOTH SALE & TRADE

If your listing starts with:

[WTS][WTT]

or:

[WTT][WTS]

you simply tell the bot whether the transaction was a sale or a trade.

If it was a sale

!confirm u/Username sale

Seller → +1 Sale
Buyer → +1 Buy

If it was a trade

!confirm u/Username trade

Both users → +1 Swap

The other person then replies directly to the bot with:

📅 ELIGIBLE LISTINGS

Only listings posted from 1 August 2026 onwards can be used for reputation.

Older posts can remain on the subreddit, but they cannot be used to add reputation.

🛡️ BUILT-IN SAFEGUARDS

The reputation system includes several protections:

Two-party confirmation
Both users must take part before reputation is awarded.

No self-confirming
You cannot give reputation to yourself.

Duplicate protection
The same two users cannot earn multiple reputation points from the same listing.

Edited confirmations are not accepted
Confirmation comments must remain unedited.

Reputation is not verification
A reputation score shows transactions confirmed through this system. It is not an endorsement, guarantee or proof that a user is safe.

Please continue to follow the subreddit safety rules and use protected payment methods such as PayPal Goods & Services where appropriate.

🧪 LIVE BETA

The reputation system is currently being introduced as a live beta.

It has been extensively tested, but minor issues may still appear as more members begin using it.

If the bot doesn’t respond or something appears wrong:

Please do not repeatedly submit the command.

Over the past few days, we’ve implemented a series of updates across r/UKFragranceSwap to improve security, streamline posting, and support the community as it grows.

🤖 AutoModerator & Safety Updates

AutoMod is now actively handling routine moderation tasks:

• Title Standardization: Enforces [WTS], [WTT], and [WTB] prefixes at the start of every post title.
• Sticky Safety Reminders: Automatically pins a buyer/seller checklist to every active listing.
• Account Filtering: Routes posts and comments from accounts under 14 days old or with low karma to the mod queue for review. (Note: Being queued does not mean you have broken any rules; it simply gives us a chance to take a quick look).
• Commercial Spam Protection: Blocks links to external storefronts (Depop, Vinted, Etsy, TikTok Shop, WhatsApp groups, etc.).
• Payment Demands Filter: Flags listings specifying unprotected payment terms for manual review.

🛡️ Universal Scammer List (USL) Lookup

We have integrated the USL Lookup Tool in the community sidebar and sticky notices. Please make it a habit to check prospective trading partners before sending funds or bottles—especially if someone reaches out via private message regarding a [WTB] listing.

🏷️ Mandatory Post Flairs & Post Guidance

• Post Flair Required: Rule 2 has been updated. All submissions must now select an appropriate post flair (Bottle, Decant, Bottle & Decant, etc.) before publishing.
• Post Guidance (Beta): We are testing Reddit’s real-time guidance system. If you forget to include [WTS], [WTT], or [WTB] in your title, Reddit will prompt you to fix it before you hit submit, preventing automatic removals.

🎨 Community Banner Submissions

We are looking to give the subreddit a proper visual identity. If you have design skills and want to contribute a header banner, we’d love to see your concepts:

• Aesthetic: Clean, minimalist, and fragrance-focused, featuring the subreddit name r/UKFragranceSwap.
• Recommended Dimensions: 1920 x 256 px (desktop header standard) or 1920 x 384 px (large).
• Guidelines: Original assets only; please avoid designs that imply official sponsorship by any specific fragrance house.
• How to Submit: Drop an image link in the comments below, or send it directly to Modmail.

🗺️ Next Steps: Confirmed Trades & Feedback

Our next major project is implementing a Confirmed Trades & Flair Tracker.

The aim is to allow completed sales, purchases, and swaps to be confirmed by both parties and reflected alongside usernames.

Only joined last month. Its been horrendous, I've sent them multiple bank statements which they demanded. The biggest issue is the sharesave. They can't seem to work out how to verify it as capital. This has caused multiple appointments and im off work with sickness for 5 months.

I've given up honestly, I've done the lwrca form and everything it's so much stress.

I've been getting messages everyday and I can't handle it anymore. They have pushed me out and I've never recieved anything.

What other choices do I have now ive closed universal credit, I've applied for pip and might look into new style esa when ssp runs out.
