I am trying to do a moon phase design with copper foil overlay. I’ve tried this multiple times and keep getting heat cracks. I’m also having some trouble with the foil lifting even after heavily burnishing, I might have been using too much flux?

-I had my iron a little under 310°
-I tried a different glass, I tried the cream colored twice and then the purple, same issue.
- I did one moon phase and then let it cool, and went back to do the next phase.

I’m not sure if this is an impossible design or if anyone has any advice. I might give up on this and try etching with a Dremel on dark glass or maybe a wire design next, let me know if you have any input on that. I’m pretty new to stained glass.
