Kitchen renovation layout advice and ideas
My wife and I just bought a home built in the 70's that's a bit of a fixer upper. The first project is renovating the original kitchen. We'd really prefer an open layout where the family room, dining area, and kitchen are all in one open space.
I attached the original floor plan and a super crude mockup of my attempt at imagining a layout that would be closer to what we'd like. We'd love all of your ideas and critiques (don't hold back) for a better layout. Neither of us have a real knack for interior design and are struggling a bit.
The main constraints are:
- Keeping the sink in its original location to maintain the nice window view while doing dishes.
- Using the laundry room as a pantry without changing the footprint of it or the bathroom/closet area.
Thank you!
