Holidaying without a camera 😱

For the first time in a long time I went on a family holiday for a week in Paris, without a camera in tow; just my iPhone (17P) and mood..! I had a Pixel 6 before this iPhone and I liked its camera and photos but not enough to rely on it completely…

To be honest I didn’t really miss carrying an extra camera around, nor was I disappointed with the photos! I like Gold as my main preset, but dialled down to 100 to preserve a bit more detail while keeping a bit of filmy softness.

I used a bluetooth MagSafe camera grip a lot of the time to make things more comfortable and familiar which works really well.

Mood wasn’t great for everything though. I find the stock camera better for selfies and very low light, and it also does some cool effects to emulate long exposures. I’ve dabbled with a few other camera apps as demos (Nofusion, halide, Analogue) but I came back to mood as I found it less fiddly and more reliable to get what I want. Nice work Alex👌

Photos taken with preset Gold 100P except the Noir 400C coffee cup and the sad Carousel on Analog 400N

Cheers

Feature suggestion: default preset

Hi
I like how there are some settings to reset the exposure compensation, mode and aperture...
I can’t see if this has been documented anywhere else but it would be really handy if you could have an option to default to a chosen preset on opening the camera as well (if it has been closed). I frequently take a photo with an unintended setting if I have been switching presets and then try to capture again quickly! Kind of like the default iOS camera with its default photographic style option, I guess.

Thank for the continued development & support Alex!

Cheers

Camera control

Loving the app, great update with v2!

One possible glitch I’ve noticed that when viewing a photo in-app, if you hit the camera control then it takes a photo in the background, instead of returning to the camera interface. I’m on iPhone 17 Pro, app v2.0.1

Cheers
