PSA: If you wall mount AI Port, install it upside down so that the ports are facing down and U-logo is wrong way. This will significantly drop the inside temperature 5-7C (10-13F) and makes on run more cool, even to the touch. Temps were measured with laser from the port surface.

Mounting it upside down means that the hot air goes up and fan that is inside the AI Port will be up there, blows the hot air right out more efficiently. Cool air is taken in from bottom to replace the hotter air going up by physics and the fan makes it faster. The fan isnt there to cool the device by blowing into it or part of it but it seems to be there to blow out the warm air created by AI Port itself and does it more efficiently when mounted like this.

If you mount it ports up, so that the U-logo is facing correct direction, the fan will be on the bottom and while it tries to blow air out, the AI Port itself will be way hotter as the air intake is on the top. So the cool air tries to go down, meets the hot air in the middle and the fan tries to blow out the hot air from the bottom. Works but not very efficient and the AI Port is, as topic says several degrees hotter.

I noticed this by accident and started listening the device fan and did some testing with 3 of my AI Ports. The 2 that i mounted upside down were ~28C from bottom while the correctly mounted was ~35C on the bottom. The temps on right at the top were only 2-3C lower but still its a huge difference overall.when mounted ports down, U-logo being upside down.

Just a FYI.
