Minami accidentally logged onto Woni's account after changing phones. She couldn't change accounts no matter what she did, so she accidentally pressed "Delete Account" since nothing was working.

Woni said you forget Minami's Japanese until she misinterprets words like this sometimes.

They'll upload Woni's pictures on Minami's account if needed for the time being. All the girls are excited to share their LA pictures since they were at the beach.

Plus Chat has contacted them and is trying to recover the account.

Update from May's Birthday Live: Plus Chat was surprised they deleted their account. They said they made it difficult for artists to do that. They won't be able to recover the account. The previously uploaded pictures won't disappear. Woni will most likely have to make a new account.

Woni responded later. So I think she's still alive.

What is your take on RESCENE's potential in your country? It's wonderful that they're topping the charts and has become one of the most well known idols in Korea, but you can't ignore the money that international sales can bring in. I'd love it if they're able to expand and earn even more, as they deserve. Girl group world tours like Aespa's brought in $18 million and Le Sserafim's brought in $34 million in 2025 (source: https://www.billboard.com/lists/top-kpop-tours-2025/). Some boy groups brought in way more, with Stray Kids grossing $185 million from their 2025 world tour.

My thoughts on why they've succeeded in Korea is due to their:

1. Approachability - They exude kindness. They're not posh or snobbish. Their humble nature makes them approachable and likable despite being celebrities. Woni lovingly calling the auntie chef "Mom" in one of the most recent videos is a great example. You saw how natural it was and how quickly she became Woni's fan. They were also praised for their recent airport appearance for not hiding behind masks and greeting everyone.
2. Familiarity/Representation - This is entwined with their approachability. Koreans love how RESCENE isn't a mega corporation's Kpop factory generated idol that speaks perfect English and dances and sings perfectly. They love their dialects, since it's always been the norm for idols to practice speaking in Seoul's "proper" pronunciation (e.g. saying "you all" instead of "y'all"). Koreans outside of Seoul feel more represented, especially since RESCENE is constantly advertising their respective homelands. And the fans love how imperfect Woni is. They love how she can't multitask and buffers if she tries to hype the crowd while dancing.
3. Youtube Success - Woni's channel is undeniably one of the hottest channels in Korea right now. The views demonstrate the Korean's continued interest in their videos. Their guest appearances in other channels also generate lots of views since Koreans crave and value RESCENE's entertainment value and chemistry. Their videos are just enjoyable to the mass public, to the point that their whole Youtube feed is RESCENE.
4. Underdog Story - Koreans love underdog stories and RESCENE's is no exception. Every time they cry from a successful run such as a music show first place, fans in the comments are crying with them. There are even reels of uncles crying from their success. And you saw how defensive basically all of Korea got when that MBC PD made a false accusation against Woni and Zena's dialect.
5. Great Music with little English - I've seen increasing complaints of English being mixed into Kpop songs the past years, especially awkwardly placed English. I personally have other groups' songs that I enjoy, only to be put off by awkwardly placed lines or pronunciations. I won't be naming them as that's not the purpose of this discussion. But more of RESCENE's songs are resurfacing and charting since they're fundamentally ear pleasing. They're not one hit wonders.
6. Catch Phrases - It's crazy how well known all five of them are. It's not just one member gaining fame, but each individual members are known by their names and catch phrases - which is very rare for Kpop groups. This ties back to the entertainment value. TV personalities and comedians would kill to have a well known catch phrase like RESCENE.

As such, I think it'll be difficult for them to break into international market. A lot of their value is in entertainment and humor, and it's catered towards Koreans. Their sensational "gyaru" wasn't as viral in Japan. A lot of the charm of their dialects would also inevitably be lost in translation. They also have lots of inside jokes like "hotdog" that might not be of much interest to other countries. I don't think others would be interested in RESCENE enough to watch their untranslated past videos and learn their lore. A lot of their charm is in their conversations and wit - and I don't think they have the language capability right now to do this in other languages. I'd love to see them charting the US Billboard, but I don't think their aesthetics would appeal to the general American public.

Hopefully they can advertise more in Japan now that they have more endorsements and cash.

I don't follow other groups closely enough to have much insight into how they built their international fandoms, so I'd love to hear some unbiased thoughts. I honestly don't know how other groups became popular internationally.
