I didn't use my standing desk as much as I wanted to, so I created a macOS app to support me.
Hi everyone,
I don't want to waste anyones time and want to be upfront: this is promotion but also an honest request for feedback.
Long story short: I bought a standing desk a couple months back because my therapist told be that my back pain most likely comes from sitting 8-10hrs per day.
The issue was that simply having a standing desk didn't change my behavior automatically, so I wanted some help, which is why I developed the StandApp app.
Small tool living in the menu bar of my Mac reminding me in a cadence I like that I should stand up and then tracks my standing minutes. For those who have used apps like Duolingo, I wanted to gamify this a bit, so there is also a streak counter which tracks how many days in a row I achieved my own set goal.
Additionally, if you want, there are some sub-1-minute stretching exercises when standing up, just to stretch a bit here and there.
For me personally, this now started to really change my habits, which then really helps me to get the most out of my standing desk and I thought you guys would be a community potentially being interested.
You can check it out for free and of course leave some feedback if you want.
